Who We Are
Farr Construction began in 1984 as a sole proprietorship in Ventura, CA, owned by Robert “Bob” Farr, Jeff Sexton’s grandfather. Bob was a licensed contractor and encouraged Jeff to develop an appreciation for tools, equipment and the feeling of accomplishment for a job well-done. Jeff followed in his grandfather’s footsteps as a very young boy and in 1985 at 17 years old he set up his own sole proprietorship as Jeff’s Tractor Service in Sebastopol, CA. Jeff obtained his contracting license in General Engineering (A) and Building Construction (B) while attending Santa Rosa Junior College in building construction. Both Jeff and his grandfather worked their own businesses and shared their love of equipment and customers at every visit. As Bob began phasing out of daily work activities in 2000 at age 78, he and Jeff discussed incorporating their businesses to form a California corporation. And in April 2000 Sexton & Son Construction Co., Inc. dba Farr Construction Co. (“FCC”) was formed with Jeff as President. Jeff became the sole owner of the company and has continued to be active in building the business as an owner/operator in the Sonoma County area. Jeff’s son Robbie Sexton, has worked alongside Jeff throughout his life and learned early on how to operate equipment and maintain it. He has been a great asset to Jeff and the company.
FCC has had lots of wonderful customers and performed a wide variety of jobs for them over the past 33 years, ranging from residential driveways, septic systems, and new residential construction to commercial buildings and hotels, and subdivisions.
